When the sun sets behind the mountains, a thin mist rises and the Cross Caraiman is reflected by the clouds. It is a tribute to soldiers who died in WWI,and is unique. It is located - at 2290 meters, and the dimensions are impressive - 28 meters hight,and arms of seven meters long. Among the rustic houses, all in wood, which tells the story from 120 years ago, you'll find Villa Ermitage (near the feet of Caraiman Mountains) from where you can start the hiking trails.
First stop? At 50 meters from our villa is Caraiman Monastery. surrounded by secular trees, the sanctuary enjoys the envoy, priest Gherontie Puiu.Discover a piece of Paradis, which has in the middle a felled fir by the storm that has an unusual shape of a giant policadru. In the top of the fir is placed a white cross , and near the tree is the big church which will have seven bells that will be heard until Busteni Valley.
